The SwordSongs Music Project is a collection of forty scripture/lyric worship songs of various genres contained on four recordings of ten songs each.

I can trace the start of the project back to a couple events, a visit to The Toronto Airport Church in 1994 and a Morning Star Worship Conference in 1996. Both events had a 'profound, life changing' effect on me!

During the conference I was incredibly moved and taken by the way worship leaders Don Potter and Leonard Jones sang the scriptures in a powerful and purposeful manner using a free-flowing modern style of music. On the final evening of the conference, I went forward with a group of worship leaders and Don prayed a blessing and impartation over us. I attribute much of my passion for worship and for this project as fruit from that ministry time.

In 1998, while preparing for an upcoming worship event when I was reading Psalm 86:8-13, I started to hear a song in my head with the text I was reading as the lyrics. I grabbed my guitar and attempted to capture what I was hearing by playing along and jotting chords and lyrics down. Over the next twelve months this happened thirty times (with a present day total of over fifty-four). Prayerfully, I asked The Lord what I should do with these songs. One late fall evening on a walk, I got a very strong impression from The Lord that these songs would be "fast food for the end times harvest". Based on that word, I knew they should be recorded.

My prayer is that these lyrics and songs will be an encouragement to you, filling you with hope, strength and wisdom as they feed your soul and give your spirit life!
