Rogue of the Mold (Explicit)
After silence, that which comes closest to communicating the inexpressible, is music. It can change our world by the single solid truth that it has the power to change people, and no one knows that better than music artist Vers’Tyle. An American-Haitian kid from Montclair, New Jersey, Vers’Tyle was born with an affinity for the art that is music. To him it was a lifelong love and expression that appealed to his soul. From a very young age he learned how to play various instruments like the trumpet, piano, and even the violin.
The profound ideology that drives Vers’Tyle’s music is almost only rivaled by the breath-taking dexterity of his rhymes. He reveals that the he prides himself on being like a chameleon, and his stage name is a direct reflection of this. “A chameleon can change its appearance but not what it’s made up of. You’ve got to learn to fit in wherever and with whomever without forcing relationships. Never limit yourself to one spot.” In his music you can get a feel of how he plays fast and loose with provenance, teleporting between styles associated with New York, Miami, Atlanta, L.A. and so on and so on. Internet-age music consumption has bridged eras and regions, and Vers’Tyle has taken complete advantage of this collapse of space and time to skillfully adopt an early nineties Brooklyn-flow in one bar, then drop into mid 00’s rockish music vibe the next. He captures a broad range of conflicting impulses, moods, and inspirations in his lyrics, but for all the brilliance of his word play, they’re still at the mercy of his necessity to build them first and foremost on the format of the song.
His aspirations for his music career are to increase his live performances (which he admits he enjoys more than actual studio time) and eventually travel in order to expand his impact on the music world. Just like every artist however, Vers’Tyle has a life beyond the music, and he fills it most conventionally with family, church, friends, and his very time-consuming job as a personal trainer.
“Even without music… I’m going to be successful.”
