Still Live Too


This is the first live CD since banjoist and singer Jimmy Costa and fiddler Mark Campbell made a promotional CD in 1999. They and Amazing Jim Lloyd enjoy performing live so much that they have gathered and present here pieces from various engagements since October of 2003. For most of these cuts Costa, Campbell and guitarist Jim Lloyd are joined by bassist Darrell Cline of Rural Retreat, Virginia.
The CD consists of songs and tunes from concerts at the Prism Coffee House in Charlottesville, Va., (October 17, 2003); the Mountain Stage Radio Show staged in the Tamarack traditional arts facility near Beckley W.Va., (November 2, 2003); Hillbilly Days festival in Pikesville, Ky., (April 14, 2005); the Ashland Theater in Ashland, Va. (April 22, 2005); and at the Holiday Lake Old Time Music Festival near Appomattox, Va. (April 8, 2006).
Accompanying the band on harmonica is former Down River Dance Band member with Campbell, Phill Woddial from Floyd, Virginia. Bassist Mark Beall from Charlottesville, Virginia, and Pete and Ellen Vigour also from near Charlottesville join the band on the Prism cuts. The latter three are part of Uncle Henry’s Favorites, an old-time band which has played on the Prairie Home Companion radio show.
