WHO IS CAREY OTT?

You can try, but you will find it pretty hard to resist dancing to this album.  When Carey Ott sings, he sounds as though he is dancing right along with the song, and that gets to be somewhat contagious after a while.  Before long, you will find yourself moving in step with Carey's singing.

Originally from a small town called Ottawa, IL., not too far from Chicago, Carey moved to Nashville, TN in 2005.  Since then, he's made a record with Ray Kennedy (Lucinda Williams, Ray Davies, Steve Earle), and he's had some of his songs on TV (Grey's Anatomy, Kyle XY, Necessary Roughness).  But, mostly, he's been writing and recording new songs.  

Tons of new songs.

"What brought me to Nashville is songs, and what keeps me here is songs.  I can't stop writing and recording all these songs I love so much.  I've been writing 'em and co-writing 'em and I've had cuts on other people's albums and I'm so proud of 'em all.  All these babies are my little children."

East Nashville is where Carey now lives comfortably with his lovely wife Lori and his fluffy dog Lola.  When asked to describe his new 10-song album, MUDDYWATER, singer-songwriter Carey Ott smiles.

"I've been looking for a reason to get out there and shake it.  I wanna dance and sing and celebrate life with people everywhere.  I believe it's about time we got funky."
