The word Pentecost means fifty - it was fifty days from the first Good Friday to the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 2. In honor of this liturgical season, we set out to do something ambitious this past spring - to record 50 songs in 50 days, to capture the musical legacy of All Souls Missoula. These are the songs that have shaped us, hymns both ancient and new. They are all played live, with no overdubs or fancy editing. And they're meant to be sung in community together (loudly, with all the passion and daring of the psalms). Volumes 1 & 2 contain our favorites (the songs that tickled our fancy or struck a chord). The Extras consist of everything else (think of it as an archive for thirsty musicians and singers). Together, it catalogs some of the most interesting new Christian worship that you've probably never heard yet. Starkly real, stunningly beautiful, just waiting to be played in your church next.
