Music From Body And Soul

Music From Body And Soul

Body and Soul began performing in the spring of 1998 as a trio. Known then as Johnson, Miller and Jung, with Steve Johnson on guitar and vocals, Steve Miller bass, guitar and vocals and Robin Jung on violin and vocals, the group began in the local club scene of Annapolis, Maryland . They came together with a love of American roots music and a desire to put both grit and harmony into their vocal acoustic performances. A year later, the keyboard stylings of John Corak were added and the new name of Body and Soul was adopted.

With covers from the likes of Etta James, Dan Hicks, Mose Allison and Duke Ellington, Body and Soul have still managed to create a repertoire that is over 50% original material. These original tunes showcase arrangements that are the product of a highly collaborative effort. The combination of rich vocal harmonies and colorful instrumentation gives the group much of its sound and style. Don't try to put them in a box. Their CD takes you on a musical journey that covers large areas of the "Americana" musical map. They play what they like, and, as a result, they draw their audience from a wide range of ages and listening interests. You won't be disappointed!!
