Life Inside the Woodwork (Explicit)

Life Inside the Woodwork (Explicit)

My first album of 14 piano-based alternative/rock original songs, 'Wall Dreams', was very minimalist (mostly just me and the keys and your ears) and has its very small audience, but that select group really listened, and I am very thankful about that. The songs are very intimate and create unique visions in each listener's head. The songs on this second album, 'Life Inside the Woodwork', have more stories to tell and prove that, in this day and age, old-school rock n' roll is alive and kicking. There are even more monsters stomping through these tunes. There is percussion on more than half the songs, which is a big departure from the first album. On the other half of the album, a big beautiful beat-up baby grand, that was just the right amount out of tune, gives all the twang that acoustic instruments will always have over the electronics. With the songs 'Lifeforce', 'Colors', and 'Animals In Politics' you are given the required sex, drugs, and rock n' roll for your ears. The songs 'Feed', 'Stay Away', and 'You Took Over Me' give you vamps, ghosts, and witches to keep you company in the dark. All the other songs support the themes of how civilized we as a species try to be, categorizing every aspect of life while trying to ignore the individuality and spirituality of each person's reality. All those primal forces scream to be heard on this record until they can no longer be ignored. This whole album was such extreme experimentation. Each song was recorded using different techniques and microphone placements. There is a very 70's mentality using 80's technology to bring these songs out today. It all sounds very gritty because it is run through amps and recorded in a very analog style that brings even more chaos to the mix. Even though it was originally recorded way back in 2006, the album spent the last year (2015) going through a major remastering process to get the songs really moving when listened to with headphones. There are a lot of little nuances to wiggle around and in-between your ears. The compositions are about things not quite lining up, and the songs should become more addictive the more they are listened to...
