The songwriting muse that visited during my last album 'Twisted Road' took up residence and stayed for about a year. Whereas 'Twisted Road' came together quickly and the songs almost wrote themselves along with a unified theme 'Inside Out / Outside In' took longer to come together. I was writing songs at a fever pitch and once I came up with the acoustic based Inside Out and the electric based Outside In I got the idea of a Neil Young inspired 'Rust Never Sleeps' type album with an acoustic opening and side (if it was on vinyl) and an electric side and closer. The songs didn't quite cooperate. It grew to double album size, and I eventually I cut it down to a tidy 12 song album with 3 Bonus Tracks. It came out more acoustic than I anticipated and contains more 'outside' (you'll see what I mean) songs than is usually my bailiwick. I worked so long on it I had to put it away for 6 months. Now I've listened to it, like it, and won't mess with it anymore.
