Through The Windows
With interest in the mysterious producer peaking thanks to his critically acclaimed 'Temporarity’ album, Michael Cassette continues to take us through the portals of time with his retro-futurist 80s-inspired house sounds. Accomplished, infectious and uplifting, ‘Through The Windows’ is the second single to be taken from the album, and is a feel-good, synth-driven anthem that sees Michael Cassette working in a vocal dimension to show his sound can continue to progress and diversify.
Marcus Maison, another highly talented studio talent from the seemingly never-ending production line of Finnish innovators, crafts a more club-smashing, housey rework that embeds a euphoric, loopy piano line but stays true to the 80s ethos of the original at the same time.
Dutch techmeister Stephen J. Kroos continues his recent resurgence and lends his expertise to a techy and atmospheric remix, full of metallic, choppy synths, that really seems to bring the vocal to the fore. Gerhard Saturnus follows up with a hypnotic, stabby, predominantly instrumental rework that rocks out to the end on a wave of uplifting, hands-in-the-air synths.
Last, but certainly not least, another iconic 80s-obsessed innovator - drum & bass legend John B -
puts the track through a fast-forward blender and comes out on the other side with an energetic, d&b-influenced rework that locks in the original’s atmospherics and delicate melodic touches. A storming finale for those that like their progressive tracks with a little extra kick of BPM!
