Samanta Carissa Sanchez better known as “Sammi” was born on January 28, 1998 in San Diego, California. With Hispanic American parents, Sammi embraces both her Hispanic and American culture with her music by singing in both English and Spanish. Sammi began expressing her passion for the performing arts at the early age of seven. Shortly after turning ten years old, her family relocated to New York City where she decided to pursue the arts more seriously. Soon after, she began taking professional vocal, dance and acting lessons. At the age of twelve, Sammi attended French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts Camp in Upstate New York. That same year, after going through some rigorous auditions, Sammi was accepted to the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) in Manhattan. She attended PPAS for the next four years until opting for homeschooling in order to take her career to the next level . In 2011, Sammi began recording covers and uploading them to her YouTube channel. Since then, her fan base continues to grow rapidly and call themselves “Sammurais”. The name “Sammurai” plays on the name “Sammi” while symbolizing a warrior that fights to achieve a goal or dream. Sammi has been fearless in her pursuit of achieving her goal to become a professional singer and performer. She has worked tirelessly on her craft in order to become the best that she can be.
