Rosie
'Rosie' takes you on a soulful journey through tribal beats, live instrumentation and synthesized sounds. Written and Produced by Allen French and Joe Berry, there is something that feels so natural about this track and we are excited to present it to you as our debut release.
The vocal in the track, taken from the original recording 'Rosie' was recorded in 1947 by Alan Lomax inside the walls of the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman. The vocals are about a girl named Rosie who would sit outside the prison boundaries and tempt the prisoners who would never get to talk to her. A very moving performance. Allen French and Joe Berry aimed to keep the true beauty of the original while adding their own flare.
